Majesty

Ahhhh!   I am looking out my hotel room and there -looming in the background of high rise buildings stands the majestic Diamond Head.  Something so powerful watching over buildings so vulnerable.  Hmm.  Sounds like something else, doesn't it?  God - so majestic and powerful watching over the children (us) who are so vulnerable.  And in the words of Grace Cobbs who has gone on- "What a mighty God we serve."   Let the wonder of God envelope you today.  type to you later!

Wisdom Note

Aren't children profound? My grandsons are always coming up with great bits of wisdom.  The other day a client shared with me a wisdom note from her five year old daughter.  She said,"When sad is trapped inside of you, Satan says 'woo hoo!'"  How insightful is that?   Everyday we give Satan a reason to celebrate because we have allowed 'sad' in.   This week try to keep sad out.  How can you do that?  Glad you asked.  By thinking happy thoughts.  The happiest thought I know is what the love of Jesus looks like.  Blessings from Honolulu.  type to you later!

The Power of Weebles

It may be a little strange now, but you will live.  Yes, life plays a rough game, you must stand firm when it gets rough.  Sometimes standing may look a little odd.  Do you remember Weebles? They had power.  'Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down'.  You could hit them and they would bounce back for more.

A segment of your standing is to become a ''weeble people'.  When life punches you, you may fall back but you bounce back up.  The energy to bounce back up is divinely ordered, it is not from you.  As long as you are clear where the energy comes from, you can indeed be more than a conqueror.  Sometimes just to get back up is a conquering spirit.  Power-not from you-wow!  And when you bounce back- you will know-it was not you -but God.   Try it now.  type to you later.

Direction

I am quite clear that each step we take needs divine direction.  Not when you don't know- but even when you think you know.  There are so many times that I could have missed seeing God's move because it didn't look like what I thought.  Ah- but I didn't miss because I let go of my will and watched.  I shudder to think of the times I missed because I tried to shape it to my will.

Don't waste precious time trying to move outside of God's will for your life.  Seek His will and then follow.  It's not easy- but it is doable. type to you later.

What Does It Look Like?

What does independence look like for many people? I was listening to the news and the commentary that many people go hungry this summer. Food banks are so very low. They are not free from hunger. We must reach out. There are so many who are hurting and you may never know. Oh yes, there are many working poor. I know. Make an effort to support. You never know how life will play out.
Yesterday, I heard a song that I had not heard in a long while, Can You Reach My Friend by Helen Baylor.

VERSE 1: "I got a call from an old friend. We laughed about how things had changed. But I could tell things weren’t going as well as he claim. He tried to hide his feelings. But they only gave him away. The longer I listened, the more I kept wishing that I knew the right words to say.

Can You reach my friend? Bring his searching to an end. Lord, I know you love him. Help him understand. Can You reach my friend? You’re the only One who can. Help him give his heart to You.

VERSE 2: We talked for more than an hour. I smiled when he mentioned Your name. I said that I knew You. I told him the difference You made. But he never thought he would need You. But maybe he’s changing his mind. As we said goodbye Lord. He told me that I had found. Something that he’d like to find.

Can You reach my friend? You’re the only One who can. Lord, I know You love him. Help him understand. Can you reach my friend? Bring his searching to an end. Help him give his heart to You.

Maybe he’s ready tonight. Lord, he said that he might need to call You. Help him give his heart to You."

We all need Jesus. At times our roles may change on the level of our need. We may need to be assured or reassured, or we may need to share our story. Find yourself in that song. Are you the friend that needs to see, feel, hear Jesus? Are you the one that needs to witness, pray for a friend? type to you later.

Independence

Celebrate!  Now, since I said that what do you think I mean?  Oh, I'm  sure (since the fourth as yesterday) that you say independence.  Yes, and no.  Yes independence but not the national holiday.  Celebrate your relationship with the Father, celebrate your kinship in the family of believers, celebrate your freedom.
"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" (John 8 31,31 NIV). Truth is power.  Truth from Jesus is chain breaking, strength producing, peace providing.  and if that is not enough to make you want to hold on to celebrate. . . "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 NIV).

Let the fireworks of joy spirit your spirit with the knowledge of your heritage as children- powerful, strong, truth seeking children of God.  Celebrate independence. It's all about knowing where your independence comes from - it comes from Jesus.  type to you later.
