More than Happy

"Happy New Year" doesn't get it for me.  I don't know your happy and you don't know mine.

I will say:  "Blessings of divine favor and in knowing who you are.  Peace in following God's will for your life. Enjoy your journey."  enough for now.

A Watchful Moment

Quite a while ago I was about to face what would be a major problem.  I didn't know then, but received an answer before I recognized the problem.  Holy Spirit whispered, "just walk away."  I was not sure what this applied to, but I soon found out.  And so I did.  The crazy cool part was how God so had my back.

So again. . . It's time . . . To walk away.  Don't you love it how God watches over us? It is a watchful moment.  enough for now.

Recognize and Celebrate

I had to rest from Christmas.  I watched too many Christmas movies which had nothing to do with Jesus. I found a show on Bible battles and found joy in that.  That's crazy.  I finally came to a new conclusion when I over heard a conversation on Christmas day.  It was in response to "how is your Christmas?"  The response, "oh we haven't opened gifts yet."

So how was my Christmas?  I was with family, though not all of my family.  Being with family is so important to me.  My 'family' celebration was Thanksgiving with my son, his family, and extended family.

Now, back to the issue.  The presents have overpowered the celebration of The Presence.  People are exhausted from finding just one more gift.  People are broke from spending too much money.  People are perturbed about not getting what they wanted. People are working so they can live and they don't have time to spend with family. People are CONFUSED.  I could go on, but you get the message.

The Presence- not presents.  Commercialism has done a job on all of us.  Please hear me.  I am not saying the giving is not necessary.  Since God gave His best to us, can't we give back to Him through
loving one another, caring for one another?  I'm sure you can find a way.  You have a year, start now.

(Oh crazy, even as I write the news is reporting that Hollywood is going to produce more biblical films. Yay! I think.)

I invite you to join me on a quest, a new leg of the journey, for what is important.  Family is so important, loving them through loving Jesus is so much better.  Loving and listening to Holy Spirit's guide is monumental!  No, don't make a resolution, just start.  Strengthen your life, your health, your walk.  Watch what God is doing in your life.  Blessings of recognizing and celebrating The Presence!
enough for now.

What is Real?

I have been rather perturbed at some of my students' lack of concern for their work. Then it dawned on me, that is how I feel, not how they feel.  If they have no problem doing c, d, f work, then I shall have no problem granting them their grade. That is very sad. After all, we should be the example to others of God's work in all that we do. Oh well, what is real? enough for now.

Oh Joy!

A moment of joy.  A client yesterday found the joy in waiting on God.  I call it 'the awakening'.  It is that moment where you know that you know that you know.  It is that place where you really can wait, you really do see, you are really clear.  And you no longer need to answer everything- you can listen clearer to Holy Spirit.  You know.  And the thing about it- things do not necessarily get easier, but you have peace.  Yes- there it is - that peace that passes all understanding.

I remember watching some of the older saints and they would have a smile like they 'knew' something that I didn't know.  When I would ask about it, I would hear, 'live a little longer', 'walk a little longer'.  And the thing about it is the 'longer' is a different place for each seeker.  Yeah, that's different.  You see, some people really want more of what God has, some are comfortable with hanging out in the realm.  But those who want more -the seekers- will receive more - just walking it out.

More is available to you.  Please don't miss it.  Watch what God is doing in your life. enough for now.

More

TODAY, I bless you with more.  More joy in times of stress. More laughter through tears.  More assurance that you are not alone. More feeling Jesus love for you. More realizing Holy Spirit's guidance.  More watching what God is doing in your life.  More . . . More. enough for now.

Let It Flow

I'm sure you will hear it a few times, and I have even said it- Happy Thanksgiving!  What do you mean?  Are you happy for me that I have family, friends, food, and fun?  It appears that food is more important as more people than usual will help out someone with a turkey. A turkey! Please understand, I'm not mad.  Food is always good.  But - for one day?  Come one.  What about those who can't eat turkey?  What about the rest of the year, when there is no food, no one to supply a meal?  What about the turkey?  (I just threw that in.)

I really am not sure where I am going with this.  I believe that it is a time to love family and connect with them.  Look at how many people travel (including me).  But then, most families who love and connect at Thanksgiving love and connect anyway.

May I offer an idea?  First - to be thankful for your life, be thankful for the love that God has for you. Then, be thankful that God has placed those in your life who love you, those who care.  Be thankful that God has indeed never left you, nor forsaken you.  Be thankful that God's mercies are new every day- you have a chance.  Be thankful that God hears your cries, eases your pain, changes situations-or changes you.  Be thankful that while God never changes, you are changed, transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Be thankful, because of God's great capacity to love you (He sent His only son, Jesus, to die a death you could never handle), you have the ability, the capacity to share that.

Of course, there are a million plus reasons to be thankful, so you fill in your blanks.  You see, God's love fills you and overflows and fills another.  You have the capacity to let it flow on from you.  You don't need to hold on to it, if you do, you can't get more with your hands closed.  Nothing can flow in, and nothing and can flow out.  Be thankful that it flows and you play a part in the flow!

And with the overflowing love allow Holy Spirit to guide you every day to 'let the love flow'.  It will be more than- more than a turkey at thanksgiving, more than a meal.  Let it flow, so that another will indeed know true kindness, real compassion, God's love.  Let it flow, every day, in a different way.  Let it flow, it's the overflow from God through you that shares, that loves, that heals.

You have the capacity to make a difference.  Who knows? You may be able to help someone with finding a job, with finding shelter, with providing friendship, with getting mental, physical help. Now that would be a thanksgiving event - With making real differences in the life of another.  You may not be able to do that but you can let God's love overflow to another.

A friend, Terry Wardle, says, "I just want to be under the spout where God's glory spills out."  I love that.  If you haven't done it, get under the spout, and bring another.  Let God's love overflow.  I love you.  Happy Thanksgiving. enough for now.

Colors of Change

I'm looking outside of my window and I love the colors of change.  There are so many signs of growth and life. I pause - and marvel at the colors of my change.  And again, there are signs of growth and life.

This is a marvelous time for of reflection for you to check out the colors of your change.  Ah, yes, you should see growth.  Be still . . . and wait.  You see, in order to wait - that is growth.  Too often we rush around trying to get the best seat, the best spot, the newest things, first in line; but to what end?  To wait gives a different perspective.

How do you wait?  Glad you asked. Wait on Holy Spirit.  Listen for direction. Follow that guidance.  It really is so very cool. You will find that what you felt important is not as important as you thought. Watch to see what God is doing in your life. Enjoy your colors of change.  enough for now.

A new Celebration

Yesterday i celebrated another year. It began rather pensive and changed to contemplative. Then it changed to celebrative.  I think that we need emphatic witnesses to celebrate with us.  That is what we all need.  One line from a movie, Shall We Dance?  We need a witness to our life.  Relationships are so important, especially when God brings people together.  Celebrate! I celebrate you!  Enough for now.

Yes, I'm Sick of It

Just because I don't talk about the shutdown does not mean I am not concerned.  As a retired union rep my thought is to make sure we vote correctly next time.  Get everyone out and make closer checks on who we put in. Take some time to get background before you vote  Yeah, I said it.  The sad part about it is that someone who has never 'had to work to live' cannot possibly understand the majority of Americans.  What can we do now?  Oh, make calls to your representative, plenty of them. Send letters.  Send emails.  Express your concern.  Move for changing the laws.  If the government is shut down, then those that shut it down get nothing.  You see, you cannot possibly be representing me when you allow me to suffer and you feel no loss.  And for those who think they have not been affected, yes you have.

Okay, enough of that.  What else can we do?  Something that is quicker, more powerful.  Join me now in prayer for godly wisdom of those elected officials, that they understand we are all in this.  And for peace and stamina for the many who are affected.  Pray unity for the United States of America. enough for now.

The Joy of The Lord

I am so excited!  Excited about what?  Glad you asked.  Life!  Yes,  I am awake and clothed in my right mind (as they used to say when I was young). I do not know what this day brings, but I know the Bringer of this day!  (Did you like that?).  Things are moving (I don't know what).  Things are changing (I don't know where).  I don't need to know,  I know the One who has promised.  With God life is happening.  Life is happening in spite of craziness.  It is a part of the "all things" plan of God.  It all works together.

Let me go a little farther.  I have peace. . . God's shalom.  That right there affords me the opportunity to be excited.  Oh, if I could let what I feel flow onto these words I would.  But you don't need me to do that.  Holy Spirit guides you in so many ways.  Let Him do so.  Enjoy this day!  Explore the joy of The Lord today.  Watch to see what God is doing in your life.  Enjoy! Enough for now.

Walk On

Do you really know how easy it is to walk away?  You can, only because you must walk toward.  Okay, let me say that another way. F.G. Sampson told me never leave a place but go to a place.  Let me say it another way.  What ever it is that you need to let go - you can.  The only way to do it effortlessly is to follow Holy Spirit's guidance.  Go ahead . . . Try it.  You see, you have been stuck in a rut and now is your time to get unstuck.  As Donald Lawrence sings, "This is your season. Walk into it."

This is the Day

Today my youngest grandson is 13.  My my, the joy of watching all three grandson grow.  Today is a great day of remembrance of the love.

That's my great day. What is yours?  You see, it really is more than my grandson's birthday, it is a new day to experience God's love.  It just happen to have a little 'kiss on the cheek' for me.  Get ready to experience this day.  "This is the day.  This is the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.  I will rejoice.  I will rejoice and be glad in it."  I was going to continue singing but stopped.  Yes this is the day!  Watch for what God is doing in your life. enough for now.

Run On

As you move through life you complete task after task, moving through season after season, trial after trial, joy after joy. You are almost done. You can see the finish line. Yes, it has been difficult, whatever 'it' is. Anything worth having is worth the work. Let me share what I learned when I was in high school. I competed in a junior Olympics and I was up to run.  I waited for the person that I would be running against, my heart pumping to get started. My coach, Booker T, was talking to the officials. I thought I had won by default. I thought. Booker T came to me to give the report. He told me that I would not have any person to run against, but I could not take my time. I had to beat the clock. I had to beat my best time. Then Booker T said something that has stayed with all these years. He said, "Don't run to the finish line, run through the finish line."

As Booker T left the track I looked up in the stands and saw those cheering for me, then the gun shot signaled the start, and I was off. Did you hear it? "Don't run to the finish line, run through the finish line." Run, knowing that there are those encouraging you to make it.  You do not have to beat anyone but your best time.  In this life's journey, run, knowing that your best time sometimes may not be speed but ethical decisions you make, and the love you share.  Run, understanding that your approval comes from the Author and Finisher of your race. enough for now.

Get Involved

Yesterday workers who are grossly underpaid had a press conference in front of the White House.  I was there as clergy to support.  It really amazes that we are so jaded as a nation that we would want to take 'it' all and leave nothing for anyone else.  These workers are the service workers working under government contractors.  The contractors get the contract from the government and are paid very well; yet, they give the lowest pay they can to the workers.

That's not all.  These workers have no benefits, they are docked pay for anything, they are not paid overtime; yet, work 50-70 hours a week.  The contractor pays them from different accounts to bypass paying overtime.  Let me say it another way.  It was stated on a news interview that the contractors are being paid up to 200% over what they are paying the worker.  Come on.  Many of these workers cannot speak for themselves.  They are afraid and need their jobs.  Many of them are working three jobs to care for their families.

The resolve is to police the contract and not give contracts unless the worker is paid a better wage of at least 12.00 an hour. That's is what is being said, I say 20.00.  But they didn't ask me. What am I asking of you?  Pray and remember the government service worker who is fixing your sandwich. Please be in support as these are your neighbors.  Be kinder, speak up for them please.

Yes, there are many other stories out there, I agree.  My question to you - "What are you doing?" When we get home God will ask what did we do.  enough for now.

Your Season

Donald Lawrence sings, "This is your season, walk into your season."  This is your season.  This is your time.  Your time to make a move.  Your time to change some things.  Your time to get out of some things.  Your time to stand.  This is your time.  Take it!  Speak it! Believe it!  You can do it effortlessly by following Holy Spirit's guide.  Come on, let's get started- TODAY. enough for now

Don't Worry, Let it Go

I think too many times we find ourselves stuck in a rut, or running around in hamster-like wheel, or like a dog chasing it's tail, or (as my mother often said) running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Whew!  That took a lot to say, especially when you think about it.  Go ahead, find yourself in one of those instances.  Oh yeah, you are there somewhere.  You see, too often we allow so many crazy things to take us into a spin. I know it to be true.

So what can we do?  Glad you asked (as F.G. Sampson used to say). Okay here is the  experiential:
Take one of those crazy thoughts, the worries in your hands.  Hold on tight to them, as you are doing anyway.  Now turn your fists upward and work on releasing your fingers.  Why? because you can't release them to the work of God if you are gripping tight.  And if you can't release, you can't receive.  Go ahead, practice getting there.  That is the experiential.  Yes, it does work, oh I promise it does.

Now let's get to self.  When we are worrying about so many things we take up useless energy that could be used in other directions.  We must capture the senseless thought before it becomes a thought.  "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5 NIV).  Is it senseless?  Yes, if it takes you away from your peace.

Should you worry?  No, Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about you life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear" Luke 12:22 NIV).  That 'do not worry' is a command from Jesus.  I should not need to say anything else.   Try it- go ahead.  Try it, and watch what God does with it.  enough for now.

I have been celebrating birthdays.  My sister's birthday, my grandson's birthday,  my niece's niece's birthday (follow that one).  Anyway It is also celebration as my son prepares to run the  half-iron in the name of Valanda Wilson to fight Leukemia.  I have place the link here as I feel it is a big thing.  This is the last few days to donate as the run is Sunday.  Please pray for him and pray for the triathlon.

The First Day

Today is the first day of September. Join me in doing a new thing, and let's do it for the month of September.  What you ask?  Oh choose: diet, writing, fasting, exercising, forgiving, laughing, being kinder, gardening, running, walking, trying something new. . . You see where I'm going.  Whatever it is let it be something that brings glory to God and this benefitting you. You ready?  Check back with me October 1.  I'm excited that I am not doing my thing alone, I have you.  enough for now.

Life Moves Quickly

Whoa!  This month has really gone by quickly.  I had a chance to renew old friendships, rethink some relationships, and revamp my ideas.  It has been a busy month - and time is moving swiftly.  One thing that came back to me is not to concerned about things not in my control.  For two days I fretted and then came back to my state of mind.  You know, I have learned to get to the cause of why something would worry me.  When I consider the cost of the worry I recognize that the cost is not worth it.  And then I can give that to Jesus.  Well, I can't handle it.  And He is the only one that can.

The song says, "Take your burdens to The Lord and leave them there."  We can get the 'take' but get confused on the 'leave'.  Don't pick them back up, drop them!  If it causes you grief, stress, pain, leave  it.  Start right there.  L E A V E   I T !   Practice that today.  It doesn't mean that you are shirking your duty, it means that you are learning to live the life God gave you.

So enjoy your life and learn to give whatever "it" is to Him.  enough for now.

Look Around

So much has happened and it has been very good.  So I suppose I have been very busy.  Now, in the midst of continued busy I must stop and look around.  You see, I understand that things do not happen to us/for us only for us to move through.  We really must accept each moment and cherish what god is doing in that moment. Yes, that is my mantra-Watch what God is doing in your life.  It is not about you alone.  Take time today and see what is happening.  I bless you with joy, even in the madness. enough for now.

Distractions Abound

Oh how easily we get distracted.  There is indeed so much going on in the news.  All to distract from other things.  It does not mean that we should not pay attention but that we pay closer attention to family and what is going on.  We pay closer attention to self and what is going on.  Sometimes we get so distracted and begin making moves more with the masses and we find ourselves hanging out in areas that we would not normally hang. Take some time with Psalm one today.  enough for now.

Things do Change

I find it amazing at how much things change yet so many people remain the same.  If we are following the guidance of Holy Spirit, them there should be change. If for no other reason than Holy Spirit's guidance is Truth, self guidance is folly.  Take time to celebrate what God is doing, will do.  And if He doesn't do another thing- what He has done.  My my.  enough for now.

Hear what Holy Spirit Says

Don't you love how Holy Spirit will guide if you listen?  I saw a powerful movie last week that got low reviews.  It's sad, because those surveyed didn't get it.  I wonder who was surveyed?  Guess you would miss the meanings, if you couldn't hear from Holy Spirit.  And that is how it happens anyway. Not everyone who sees, hears, can see, or hear.   The movie - "After Earth" and no, it was not about a father and son lost in space.

It is about relationship, lost and regained.  Let that sink in.  Maybe more later, maybe not.  Go see it.  Before even that- listen and get guidance for your life.  Let Holy Spirit minister to you in every aspect.  He is available to guidance, to instruct.  Type to you later.  enough for now.

Get the Truth

Do you know how important it is to get your facts before reacting?  Yes, you know that but here is the crazy part- your facts may not the facts.  Yeah- that causes you to think.  Let me say it another way.  Too often we react to what we believe about something or someone and it may not be the facts, the truth.  Let's go farther.  What you may believe to be true may not be true.   It ma be what you were taught or what you believed to be truth, but it was/is a lie.

And every day we react to what we believe while someone else is reacting to what they believe.  And either may be true- or not.  That is why it is crucial to hear from Holy Spirit and then to follow guidance.  Don't be so quick to react on what you believe.  Get the truth.  type to you later.

There is Hope

I am watching (again) "For Colored Girls" and remember the play quite a while ago, "For Colored Girls who Considered Suicide when the Rainbow isn't Enough."  And yes- there are sisters, women who hurt so very much that suicide is a real thing.  Not just women, men also.  And here is the thing.  No one should be in that position.  No one should consider suicide, not when Holy Spirit is available and when God loves you so much.

There is hope.  Oh yeah. What you can consider is how much you are loved by God.  Oh, I promise, Let God love you, let yourself be loved.  Blessings of this day.  type to you later.

Move On

When I was young my mother would save her nice bed gowns in case she had to go to the hospital. And the time that she did go, she had to wear the dreaded hospital gown.  So she wore her gowns after that.

I learned to wear my stuff.  But just this week I learned to move on in more things.  I released old makeup, am working to release an old computer, to move on.  That is funny, because I can move on in some things, but learning am learning to move on in other things.

What does it mean?  If you are following Holy Spirit's guidance you have to be ready to move on. Holy Spirit is dynamic, not static.  He is our Paraclete, to walk along side.  And even if we are not sure - if we stop to listen- then we can follow.  We can move on, we can walk away, we can get past, we can breathe!    You see, we try to hold on, too many times, to what God wants us to release.  Listen, and then follow what Holy Spirit is saying.  Let it go!  Move on from your craziness. Move on.  type to you later.

Change-It's Time

As much as I like to change things up, change is sometimes difficult.  You have you learn a new way.  But that is good.  You see, sometimes-in that new way you find out more about who you are and how you handle things.  But what happens when there is no change?  Hmm, I encourage you to step outside of what you normally do.  Take a different route, change up your routine- only to get a different view of you.

No- it does not mean lose you mind. It does mean to allow Holy Spirit to guide you.  Hold on, if you are allowing Holy Spirit to guide then you will do things differently.  He will prompt you to smile at a stranger, pray for a face, share with another.  He's so unpredictable!  Go with Him!  He will show you who you are in and out of turmoil.  You will learn to trust in God's will. Go with it!

So change is not as difficult as it appears if you allow Holy Spirit to guide.  Watch what God is doing in your life.  type to you later.

Oh, He is a Mighty God

What A Mighty God we serve!  Yes we do. Yes we do.  And yes He is!   Yes, He is mighty, and yes, He is loving, and yes, He is concerned.  Oh hold on.  Yes, He is concerned about you.  Hmm. Actually, He is more concerned about you than you are about you.  Oh yes.

So- if that is that then you can make it.  You can hear clearer, yes you can.  I know you have been hearing so much garbage that sometimes God's voice gets drowned out by your calibration to the garbage. But God made you, God breathed life into you.  You are made in God's image- so you have a way to hear God instead of adhering to garbage.  Enjoy the journey,  watch and listen for His mightiness and what He is doing
in your life.  type to you later.

The Scream

Today I kept my grandniece for a short time.  She did something she had never done before. She screamed "bloody murder" for a while. (That's what my parents called it).   Wow! After giving her milk, that did not help.  After changing her, that did not help.

I felt so bad because that was not like her.  Then she spit up, a lot. And she cried, and I cried.  And I prayed.  It was precious, as I prayed she got quiet like she was listening.  I prayed for relief for her and that she would not suffer pain.  And she spit up.  And she spit up again.  She felt better.

There are so many pieces here. You see -don't we wish we could scream when we were ill or uncomfortable?  Instead we hold it in and many times are more harmed.  But if we could scream and let God know how we feel, then we have a chance for God to ease our pain.  So many people are walking around and if they could lament, could scream it all out to God, then they could experience release.

My grandniece taught me so much today.  You must get out what ails you.  Lamenting allows you to scream it out, spit it up, let it go.  She screamed, I cried, I prayed, God responded to her cry.  Oh He hears you.  Don't hold it in any longer.

Blessings as you release what hurts. type to you later.

A Season of Celebration

Yesterday was the day, tomorrow is the day!  Yesterday we celebrated Good Friday, tomorrow we celebrate the Resurrection!  Because of Jesus' life death and resurrection you have hope.  We have new lease on life daily.  We have a chance to do it differently, to try again, to forgive, to move on, to grow- this time.  Yesterday may have held pain, sorrow, treachery, difficulties greater than can be imagined, loneliness; ah BUT GOD!

God loves us so much that we can see differently -today. We can feel differently -today.  We can try another way- today. Yeah, no one understood us yesterday- but today we are assured that because of God's mercies and His great love for us we can claim this day!  It is the present- our present- God's gift.  God's gift to us -  His only son, Jesus, gives us what we need today to grasp everything that God has for us.

Slow down, you're thinking too hard.  God loves you and you have a chance!!!!!  You are His Beloved and trust me- He is with you.  You what is crazy?  I said, "trust me,"  and you thought okay, what does God have for me?  (or something like that)  Anyway - God says, "trust me,"  and that frightens you. You have Holy Spirit to guide you, to walk with you, so whatever the day, the season brings, you can make it.  Jesus' resurrection was so much more than you can imagine- all for you.  He really loves you.  Yesterday was the day, today is your present from God- your life.  Unwrap it,  play with the paper,  explore the gift.  Tomorrow is your future.  You can't begin to understand how awesome tomorrow will be if you do not learn from yesterday and if you miss today.  Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus tomorrow! It is all about His obedience to His Father and His Father's love for you. This is a season of Celebration! type to you later.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you knew it was an attack? Yet you had to get to that point. Ah, but when you got to the realization that it was an attack- then you could stand.

And the crazy part is when you stood - ohh whew! It all fell into place. Then you can see how foolish the attack is because you you know who you stand with, you know what you stand on.

It's almost like a boxer wearing himself out hitting you, yet the blows go nowhere. Yeah -it's like that. Have you ever had it it to happen? Oh my! Enjoy your identity as His Beloved. Nothing can harm you. Although it tries-it fails. type to you later.

Discover You

What do you expect from life?  What do you want? What do you contribute?  What are you doing? Who are you?  Hmmm. Spend the rest of the Lenten season contemplating these questions. Move all out of your way.  Don't worry about what is or is not going on at the job, school, family, church.  It does not mean that you are not concerned, it means that it is time to take a discovery journey.  Wait as you are contemplating.  Listen to Holy Spirit.  Watch what God is doing.  You see, you can't discover self without seeing God.  Not possible.  We'll talk later about what you discovered.  Yeah, it is a discovery.  talk to you  later.

That is Major!

Don't waste your precious time trying to figure out who I am talking about.  That has been your problem all your life- hasn't it?  You have worried that you have been found out, caught. You worry about mankind finding you out when your concern really should be God changing your heart.

How does it start?  Glad you asked (as F.G. Sampson II used to say). Shift your focus.  When you shift from temporal things to those things eternal you automatically change.  The quality of your life depends on your shifting.  Use this Lenten season to listen to God, to follow Holy Spirit's guidance, to bask in the love of God. Come on!  God loves you so much that He gave His only son. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16 NIV).  That is major!

You know, my sister and I grew up in church and we learned and recited scriptures.   We had so many books on the stories of the Bible. Stories that would take us into our adult years.

I understand the importance of my introduction to Jesus and to the scriptures early.  Even now, I am still amazed at the love that God has for me by giving what He loved so that I could live.  My my.  That is major!

So you have a few things to contemplate. Just pondering alone the vastness, the richness, the fullness, the depth, the height, the width of God's love for you is a venture in freedom for your spirit.  You are His Beloved.  Allow that to permeate your heart.  That is major! type to you later.

Don't Miss It

As I participated in the memorial service of a friend I had so many realizations.  One- those who thought they knew her did not know her.  They didn't know who she was connected to and how.  They didn't know the gifts she had and they missed benefiting from those gifts because they did not give her a chance.  She had so much to offer and tried as she could.  It hurt her many times because she wanted to give, to share.  Not to have a name, but to share.  My, my.  And so they missed a grand opportunity.

I say that because I know what that feels like.  Long ago I came to the realization that I would do what I could as Holy Spirit guided.  It has kept me more in my right mind because they don't know who I am.  They don't know what I can do.  They don't know who guides my actions.  And in those actions I can be sane because I will not let them dictate my life.

Who is "they"?  Hmmm.  Ask yourself - is it I?  It could be you, with your saved, sanctified self.  Yes, it is a hard realization.  But you don't know what someone has to offer unless you give them a chance.  And yes, we all have been "they."  This is a great time to repent from that selfish, self-centered, think you're gonna lose what you have self.

How can you start?  Know who you are, who God created you to be and walk in that.  Don't worry about another or what you think they will take from you.  Come on, if it is yours - you got it.  There is so much kingdom work being left undone and we all will have to answer to what we did not do.  You are the Beloved of God.  Let that penetrate your mind, your heart.  You have no worries- I'm telling the truth.  No one can separate you from that love.  No one can take what is given to you.  And you can't it from anyone. Whew!  Deal with that. Stay in your lane!  Journey along your path, and when you meet souls that don't look like, think like, act like you, check it out with Holy Spirit.  It may be something you are to learn in that season.  It may be something you are to share in that season.  And then take a chance, not on the person, but on what Holy Spirit says.  You don't know where your blessings are.  They may be coming through the person next to you.  Enjoy your life! type to you later.

Get Out Your Rut

I think too often we get so entrenched in a way of doing something or of enjoying something that we miss so much of life.  This morning I was thinking about my own "stuckness."  When I was little I loved chocolate ice cream, didn't want vanilla unless there was nothing else.  And then, it happened- one day we had neapolitian and I tried strawberry.  Wow! How cool.  I even begun to have more respect for vanilla. And as I grew up I branched out.  Oh- to butter pecan, peach, banana- can you see me?  And then other flavors, but now I had an idea of what I really liked.

So how many times do you order the same thing the same way?  How many times do you do the same thing the same way, and wonder why everything stays the same?  What rut are you in?  Don't get me wrong, I offer that you should try going a different way, ordering something different, having a different attitude in your reationships.  Ruts are ruts, no matter what.

You have not experienced all that life has for you.  There is still another ice cream flavor.  When you are willing to experience life you can better realize who you are and what you like.  Oh I could say a lot about this, but start easy.  Start with ice cream, try a different flavor.  Have fun.  type to you later.

No More Rabbit Trails

As I quickly glanced at Facebook the thought occurred why I don't look at it more. There are far too many interests to invest in, and I ain't giving no more. While many of the interest have been my interest they aren't now. Some are where i have been, some are where I choose not to go. So I look and keep moving.

When you are clear on your journey you won't follow every rabbit trail along the
Journey. Oh I can say that because I followed a few rabbit trails. No more. .
What do you say?
Get on it. Type to you later.

Love One Another

Yesterday I posted a picture on my face book page of two little girls at the water fountain.  They looked like sisters, so I will call them sisters.  One was lifting the other up so she could get the water.  That image touched me as it reminded me of my sister and I when we were small.  Our parents encouraged us to "take care of one another"  as "we are all we have."

Take care of one another.  My my.  Isn't that what Jesus said?  I mean, to love one  another, care for one another.  So my parents were not only being loving parents but exhibiting sound theology as well.  There are so many people hurting, so many people just needing help to get the water, and all it requires from us is to help.  Love one another.  In the African spirit of M'buntu "I am because we are,"  spend time today letting that "one anothering" penetrate your heart.  See what God has for you, and allow Holy Spirit to guide you.  type to you later.

Allow Yourself to Ask

My my, it sometimes become difficult to hear what God is saying.  There are so many distractions that can arise.  Don't beat yourself up when you realize you were distracted.  Just step off from that having learned something- that distractions can come in so many ways.

But how can you recognize a distraction?  Glad you asked.  I offer that when you are pulled from your original course of action, whether good or bad, ask Holy Spirit is it a distraction.  Yes, ask, you can do that.  The more you do it, the more comfortable you become in  asking and following.  Your life is so much more than even you know.  Watch what God is doing.  Enjoy your journey!  type to you later.

The Choice is Yours

Had a wonderful experience working with The Healing Place in identifying patterns in our lives. When we recognize the patterns that are destructive then we can take positive steps toward healing.

You can stay in the destructive patterns or you can move toward healing. You choose. type to you later.

Focus

I can't say it enough-focus. Do not allow distractions in the way of lies, doubts, confusion, illness to cause you defeat. Hear clearly what Holy Spirit is guiding. Oh please stay focused. This time is critical. This is a time of great decision and you must be clear. Focus. type to you later.

You are More Than That

For many, this year began with hurts and pains from the past. Many are suffering physical issues. Too often, the bitterness and unforgiveness resulting from the hurt and pain can manifest in your physical.  The suffering in your physical can open the door for despair, regret, doubt, mistrust, you name it. And when you give up, the enemy has already staked a place. When you are down you need the company of community. You need Jesus. You need to hear what Holy Spirit is saying to you. You need to know that God loves you and because of Jesus' work on the cross you can stand, you are forgiven, you can live!

Take time today to marvel at what Jesus' work on the cross did for you. Spend some time with that and get ready for this day. You are more than a conqueror! type to you later.

Move On

Well we had a little snow. I love it how snow covers everything and it beautiful. It reminds me of God's love- God's love covers a multitude of sins. Rejoice in that fact, confess and receive God's forgiveness and move on. type to you later.

Can You Do It?

Can you let it go? Can you release past hurts?  Can you?   You see, in letting it go, whatever it is, you are freed to receive what God has for you.  If your arms are full of the past mess, your hands gripping tight to old junk, then you cannot receive what is yours.  So begin by loosening the grip of the junk in your hands, that unforgiveness, you know what happened, what she did, what he did.

Why should you release the junk?  Glad you asked. Because you are only hurting yourself.  Unforgiveness will slowly kill you, in so many ways. The person, place, or thing that wronged you has moved on. You are the only one stuck and eventually it will wear you out.  So release.  Allow Holy Spirit walk with you through the process. Begin by turning your gripped hands upward and opening your fingers slightly, and when you can open your hands, thank God for the release.

When you can open your hands the junk can fliff away. With open hands turned upward your are ready to receive, ready to move on.  For each step in the release thank God for the new moment.  Move as Holy Spirit guides.  I bless you with peace and courage as you release. You can do it.  type to you later.

Life has a way a presenting challenges.  Hey, that's life.  That is what it does.  But this is your life.  This is your journey, your dance.  So since you know that life will present challenges you come prepared.  How can yo do that?  Oh, it is easier than you can imagine. You follow through by following the Paraclete, Holy Spirit. Yeah, that is how you overcome the challenges of life.  That is how you can get through the day, the hour, the minute.

Be clear that the challenges will present themselves yet, you can overcome.  You can make it over, under, around, through any challenge.  And even if you find yourself right there in it just know that you are not alone.  Follow Holy Spirit's lead.

Do you need a history recap?  Read Daniel 3.  You are never alone, dance on.  type to you later.

This is It

We are already close to the middle of the first month of the new year. That is a lot to think about, right? I mean especially when you think about what you have already 'not done', 'left undone', 'forgot', 'missed.' So let's try this- today is your day to celebrate in all that you do today. Today belongs to you.  It is your new day to do it, get it right, to celebrate.  This is the day that the Lord has made-rejoice, rejoice, and be glad in this day. Love your life, love your family, celebrate God's love for you. type to you later.

Hope

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares The Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jer. 29:11-13 NIV).

What else can I say? Hope. type to you later.

And Again

Here it is again. One more time. One more chance. There He goes again.
Here it is again- one more day of witnessing God's glory. One more time to get it right. One more chance to experience God's mercies. Yes He is God of more chances yet we experience them as another and another, one after another. There He goes again- working His plan for our lives and including us in the plan. And God does it again and again for us. Don't miss this day. Don't miss what God has for you. That is healing right there.
Watch this day what God is doing! type to you later.

Life is Happening

So many things are happening.  People are moving, lives are being rearranged.  Look around- it is happening all around you.  Yes, it is life.  Now look at your life, you are moving, things are happening for you. True, it may not be quite what you expected- but it is your life.  Determine if it is what you follow or what you change.  How can you do that?  Check with Holy Spirit.  Oh I promise, you will receive guidance.  And if it is not God ordained, then move to change it.  If it is God ordained, then you will need guidance to follow through.  Hold up, if it is not God ordained, then you will need guidance to change it.

Either way, life is happening and you need guidance.  Watch what God is doing, each day, and follow Holy Spirit's directions.  Your life is happening and if you follow guidance, then there are no worries on what might have been.  Love your life and live on purpose- God's Purpose! type to you later.
