Don't get Lost

How often do we allow ourselves to be pulled into arguments with ourselves about ourselves. You know -trying to find out how and why you are doing what you are doing. Or why you did what you did. Oh but when you get still, you realize that what you are fighting is absolutely not a thing.  And you find that you have wasted so much time - so much time.  It is a distraction caused by lies that have thrown you off.  Don't allow yourself to waste not another minute.  Get still and breathe.  Be still until you receive clarity from Holy Spirit - direction - guidance.  And then follow. enough for now.

Oh How Many Times

How many? How many times?  How many times do we turn from God to follow our own agenda?  It could be something as simple as not trusting what God has said. How many times?  Oh ask yourself, Lord, is it me?  The enemy will trap you with lies, and lies that your believe will mess you up. Yes they will.  If God has said it, then hold on and move toward it.  Go ahead, try Him.  enough for now.

Cherish it All

What is it?  Go ahead, what is it?  What is your testimony?  I had an interesting conversation with someone that had not seen enough change.  But then I've seen that play out during testimonies in some churches. You can see how people are trying to find their  biggest testimony.  And then there are those who give "He woke me up this morning."  Oh yes God did.  Do you know that God is still rearranging?  Still changing you? He changes as He sees fit.  You are being transformed constantly.  If your change, your transformation appears to be minimal, it is still change.

Never be afraid to tell what you know about your transformation.  Never worry that it sounds too small.  Each step in your transformation is a step toward your freedom.  Cherish it all! enough for now.

Don't Believe the Hype

I do not believe the sensationalism of the media.  They get caught up on one thing and not enough on another.  It is downright pathetic.  The world allows for so many distractions from what may be real.  Please don't loose your focus.  Listen to Holy Spirit, and then follow. enough for now.

Language

I was listening to the musicians practice and as they have different notes that I very vaguely remember I realized it was their language.  Everything has a language and to effectively communicate you need to know the language.

While we understand that some things cross language barriers, like a smile; it is good to always keep that close.

I think the smile is God's gift to us to come together.  And when we recognize that a smile erases barriers we can use that same smile to enter into communication with God.  We use His love language to hear, speak, rest, realize more His love.  Smile and watch.  enough for now.

This is Your Day

September 11 is the beckoning call for change for Americans, the call for remembrance.  And it that dreaded day will forever be etched in our minds.  Yesterday many did so much to commemorate- to remember- to recognize.  And yes - we should.

Allow me to take it to a different level.  What is your day- your moment of reckoning- of remembering- of commemorating- for your self? What is the moment that changes you forever- that starts you on a new journey?  When did you say "enough" "no more" "not again"?  When did you recognize just how precious your life?  When did you take steps to renew, to recoup, to resolve, to rejuvenate?

Could it be, that day, that moment for you is right now? God's mercies are new everyday.  Everyday we have a chance to do it differently.  Take it today. enough for now.

Make a Difference

I watch young people that grew up with me in different ministries as they excel in their life's calling; and I smile.  I smile when I watch my son teaching his sons, loving on them and guiding them; when I watch my niece teaching her daughter, giggling as she grows.  I smile when I golf with my nephew, and I listen to his views,  I smile.  Yes, the care grows on.  It really does.  And to realize that in different ways I had a hand in their growth.

In the spirit of Mbutu, "I am because we are," we are not in this world alone and we must make every effort to positively connect to another, not just in your family, but in the larger family.  We are community and love really should be our theme.  We should share what we know and encourage others to spiritually grow.   After all, someone cared for you.  Someone prayed for you.  Sometimes it is not easy, I agree, but you probably were not easy for someone either.

Take time today to make a difference in someones life.  How?  Oh so many ways, start with a call, a smile, a prayer, encouragement.  So many ways to love, to nurture, to show real care.  Blessings on each of you as you make a difference, and as you recognize that yes, yes you did; you made a difference.  enough for now.

Keep Running

I marvel at how God uses my son.  My son just finished a half-iron.  He said he did not train as he did for his first half-iron. What he discovered was he time was only fifteen minutes more than the first half-iron.  He said his body memory kicked in to do what was possible.  I think that was the word - body memory. You see, he had trained so much that his body still remembered what to do in the same situation.

Hmm.  "Train up a child in the way he/she should go; even when he/she is old he/she will not depart from it" (Prov. 22:6).  or "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you" Ps. 119:11 NIV).  Just as the body can be trained and remembers; the heart must be trained and will remember.  I thought that was really cool.

Find one, find a scripture, old on to it, stand on it, ponder it, and when you need it, it will be available.  Hold on what you see God doing in your life, and when you need it, you will remember it.  Run on, hold on, help is indeed on the way. enough for now.

Stay in the Fire

I was boiling two eggs yesterday and, after a shorter time than I thought normal, one of the eggs cracked open.  I thought it was odd that they were ready so soon; nevertheless, I took them out. As I peeled the cracked egg I realized that although the egg white was ready the yolk felt soft.  I could change the shape of the egg.  Hmm.  So I cut it and sure enough, the yolk was soft and gooey, not solid.  The other egg was similar, but not as gooey. Although the egg had cracked, it was not ready. I had taken it out of the fire too soon.

This morning Holy Spirit showed me that some people who are in ministry are like that egg. They look like, act like, talk like they are ready; but their heart for ministry has not quite solidified for the things of God.  They read, yes, even copied the ways of others, may have spent time with God, but still not quite ready.  They need more time in the fire.

This may not pertain to you, but sometimes we all rush into something that we think we can handle.  So that does pertain to you. It does not mean we can't handle it, it means we need more time. More time in the fire, more time with the fire of Holy Spirit. More time solidifying ourselves for what God has.  If you are not solid, the world will change your shape.  You will succumb. Stay in the fire. enough for now.

Let it Go!

Let it go!  Two clients had similar breakthroughs yesterday.  I love how God frees us to live fuller lives. The breakthroughs? Hatred of their mothers.  Now they are on the way to healing.

Yes,  hatred will mess you up, but hatred of someone significant is detrimental because "you are not supposed to feel like that."  If that is how you feel- it is how you feel, and 'stuffing' your feelings only hurts you. So what do you do?  Let it go! How?  Glad you asked.

First, recognize the truth, then speak it out.  In this case, you hate _______ because _________.  And on and on.  As you speak it, allow yourself the freedom to tell God what you feel. Don't make it cute, make it as raw as you feel.  God can handle it.  Oh you know what to do.  You do it when you tell someone close about what you feel. It's called venting.  You vent with another person, and when you are done, you feel good.  The sad part is the person feels dumped on.  Lamenting allows you really vent to God.  He can handle it, and you can't afford not to do it.

Why?  Healing starts at the 'feeling' level.  When you are done lamenting. Then rest in that peace.  Rest right there.  Listen to Holy Spirit's guidance.  Feel that release, from so many aspects of your life.  When it is all out, you can bless that person.  We will talk more about that later.

I bless you with hearing from Holy Spirit, I silence the voice of the enemy, I silence your voice.  Rest in the peace of release.  Let it go!

Oh yeah, today is my middle grandson's 16 birthday.  Happy Birthday Trey!  enough for now.

Get Real

It is still hot. I am still waiting for a service call that was to be from 8a-1p.  At 1:50p I got a call, the person was on a job and had two other jobs before me.  Yes, unfortunately, I lost it.  There are so many issues - but the main one is how people are not respectful of other's time.  Then I had a different issue, this one -someone was not respectful of my time, nor me.  I got over it, and now am basking in peace.  No, nothing has changed- but you see- if I stay in the 'upset' place it just uses my energy and time.  God did not create me to misuse my time.  That would be me being disrespectful of what God has given me.  See how that works?  Take time, are you being respectful of the awesome time you had been given?  Then start now.  Get real with what is real, your life is precious. enough for now.

Can you Stand the Heat?

The heat is rather rough. I don't mean outside, but inside. The air went out yesterday and won't be repaired until tomorrow. Oh my goodness, it is sweltering!  Why, the temperature outside will be 93 degrees with high humidity, and inside it is 81 degrees. Yeah, I said 81 degrees.  It is all relative.  I have worked in temperatures higher than 81 degrees.  Many people work and play in temperatures hotter.

Here is the crazy part. I had planned on writing all day Labor day.  I didn't.  I played games and watched movies in order to be still, because it was hot.  I could have left home and rode somewhere to get cool, but I didn't, because I was drained, because it was hot.  How strange is that?  At any moment I could have the heat to get relief, but didn't.  How many times do we attempt to get away from what takes our energy, our mental strength, when all we have to do is leave?  But we don't leave and we stay there complaining about our "lot" whatever the "lot" is, how many times?

You did not get the worst "lot" in life.  You do have way out. You are only stuck in your mind. There is always a way out, through, above, around, underneath, - always.  Don't believe the lies that you are stuck, you can't get out, you will never live free, you will never be more, you will never make it, . . . you get it.  They are all lies. There is a way. Oh you may not see it, but I promise it is there. I promise because it has been promised and it possible through Holy Spirit, our paraclete, who walks alongside, guiding us through, above, around, underneath.

Yeah, it's hot but now I can handle it.  This is a minor thing only causing distractions for me. What are your distractions? What are the lies?  There is a way.  Shift your focus from your problems to The Solution. Watch what God is doing. enough for now.
