That is Major!

Don't waste your precious time trying to figure out who I am talking about.  That has been your problem all your life- hasn't it?  You have worried that you have been found out, caught. You worry about mankind finding you out when your concern really should be God changing your heart.

How does it start?  Glad you asked (as F.G. Sampson II used to say). Shift your focus.  When you shift from temporal things to those things eternal you automatically change.  The quality of your life depends on your shifting.  Use this Lenten season to listen to God, to follow Holy Spirit's guidance, to bask in the love of God. Come on!  God loves you so much that He gave His only son. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16 NIV).  That is major!

You know, my sister and I grew up in church and we learned and recited scriptures.   We had so many books on the stories of the Bible. Stories that would take us into our adult years.

I understand the importance of my introduction to Jesus and to the scriptures early.  Even now, I am still amazed at the love that God has for me by giving what He loved so that I could live.  My my.  That is major!

So you have a few things to contemplate. Just pondering alone the vastness, the richness, the fullness, the depth, the height, the width of God's love for you is a venture in freedom for your spirit.  You are His Beloved.  Allow that to permeate your heart.  That is major! type to you later.

Don't Miss It

As I participated in the memorial service of a friend I had so many realizations.  One- those who thought they knew her did not know her.  They didn't know who she was connected to and how.  They didn't know the gifts she had and they missed benefiting from those gifts because they did not give her a chance.  She had so much to offer and tried as she could.  It hurt her many times because she wanted to give, to share.  Not to have a name, but to share.  My, my.  And so they missed a grand opportunity.

I say that because I know what that feels like.  Long ago I came to the realization that I would do what I could as Holy Spirit guided.  It has kept me more in my right mind because they don't know who I am.  They don't know what I can do.  They don't know who guides my actions.  And in those actions I can be sane because I will not let them dictate my life.

Who is "they"?  Hmmm.  Ask yourself - is it I?  It could be you, with your saved, sanctified self.  Yes, it is a hard realization.  But you don't know what someone has to offer unless you give them a chance.  And yes, we all have been "they."  This is a great time to repent from that selfish, self-centered, think you're gonna lose what you have self.

How can you start?  Know who you are, who God created you to be and walk in that.  Don't worry about another or what you think they will take from you.  Come on, if it is yours - you got it.  There is so much kingdom work being left undone and we all will have to answer to what we did not do.  You are the Beloved of God.  Let that penetrate your mind, your heart.  You have no worries- I'm telling the truth.  No one can separate you from that love.  No one can take what is given to you.  And you can't it from anyone. Whew!  Deal with that. Stay in your lane!  Journey along your path, and when you meet souls that don't look like, think like, act like you, check it out with Holy Spirit.  It may be something you are to learn in that season.  It may be something you are to share in that season.  And then take a chance, not on the person, but on what Holy Spirit says.  You don't know where your blessings are.  They may be coming through the person next to you.  Enjoy your life! type to you later.

Get Out Your Rut

I think too often we get so entrenched in a way of doing something or of enjoying something that we miss so much of life.  This morning I was thinking about my own "stuckness."  When I was little I loved chocolate ice cream, didn't want vanilla unless there was nothing else.  And then, it happened- one day we had neapolitian and I tried strawberry.  Wow! How cool.  I even begun to have more respect for vanilla. And as I grew up I branched out.  Oh- to butter pecan, peach, banana- can you see me?  And then other flavors, but now I had an idea of what I really liked.

So how many times do you order the same thing the same way?  How many times do you do the same thing the same way, and wonder why everything stays the same?  What rut are you in?  Don't get me wrong, I offer that you should try going a different way, ordering something different, having a different attitude in your reationships.  Ruts are ruts, no matter what.

You have not experienced all that life has for you.  There is still another ice cream flavor.  When you are willing to experience life you can better realize who you are and what you like.  Oh I could say a lot about this, but start easy.  Start with ice cream, try a different flavor.  Have fun.  type to you later.

No More Rabbit Trails

As I quickly glanced at Facebook the thought occurred why I don't look at it more. There are far too many interests to invest in, and I ain't giving no more. While many of the interest have been my interest they aren't now. Some are where i have been, some are where I choose not to go. So I look and keep moving.

When you are clear on your journey you won't follow every rabbit trail along the
Journey. Oh I can say that because I followed a few rabbit trails. No more. .
What do you say?
Get on it. Type to you later.

Love One Another

Yesterday I posted a picture on my face book page of two little girls at the water fountain.  They looked like sisters, so I will call them sisters.  One was lifting the other up so she could get the water.  That image touched me as it reminded me of my sister and I when we were small.  Our parents encouraged us to "take care of one another"  as "we are all we have."

Take care of one another.  My my.  Isn't that what Jesus said?  I mean, to love one  another, care for one another.  So my parents were not only being loving parents but exhibiting sound theology as well.  There are so many people hurting, so many people just needing help to get the water, and all it requires from us is to help.  Love one another.  In the African spirit of M'buntu "I am because we are,"  spend time today letting that "one anothering" penetrate your heart.  See what God has for you, and allow Holy Spirit to guide you.  type to you later.

Allow Yourself to Ask

My my, it sometimes become difficult to hear what God is saying.  There are so many distractions that can arise.  Don't beat yourself up when you realize you were distracted.  Just step off from that having learned something- that distractions can come in so many ways.

But how can you recognize a distraction?  Glad you asked.  I offer that when you are pulled from your original course of action, whether good or bad, ask Holy Spirit is it a distraction.  Yes, ask, you can do that.  The more you do it, the more comfortable you become in  asking and following.  Your life is so much more than even you know.  Watch what God is doing.  Enjoy your journey!  type to you later.

The Choice is Yours

Had a wonderful experience working with The Healing Place in identifying patterns in our lives. When we recognize the patterns that are destructive then we can take positive steps toward healing.

You can stay in the destructive patterns or you can move toward healing. You choose. type to you later.

Focus

I can't say it enough-focus. Do not allow distractions in the way of lies, doubts, confusion, illness to cause you defeat. Hear clearly what Holy Spirit is guiding. Oh please stay focused. This time is critical. This is a time of great decision and you must be clear. Focus. type to you later.
