Don't Forget to Say Thanks

"I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I heard falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses. And he walks with me and he talks with me, and he tells me I am His own. And the joy we share, as we tarry there, none other has ever known." I grew up on that song and found myself singing it this morning. And thanking him for all he has done for me. I just started rattling off what I could.  Oh my goodness, the peace when we hang out with Jesus.

But then it brought me back to something else. Don't forget to say thanks. Yesterday I taught one of a few classes. And the lunch was bought and brought in for the adult students. I thanked the dean for the lunch. And I thought I missed it, so I checked with the dean later - no one else said thanks. Bur I was also surprised at the students complaining about the work they had to do. That is wrong on so many levels. You see, in this life, nothing is promised us, nothing should be taken for granted. People do not have to be kind. And - when you want something you work for it. It's what you do. So at any place, if someone does something for you- you just ought to say thanks.

You don't acknowledge kindness, you don't respect the process, authority? And then you wonder why the young people act as they do- they are getting it from you. And if you are acting liking this, how much less are you thanking God?  Can you see why that is a problem - preachers?

Don't forget to says thanks. Go ahead- take a 60 second 'thanks' break and thank God. Just let it roll, don;t out it in order, name as much as you can. . .  Pause and marvel at his many blessings to you, how he places, people in your life, how he holds you from danger- seen and unseen, how he points the way again and again (it's on you when you don't follow). How he _________________ you fill it in. And begin taking 60 second 'thanks' break during your day. See what does for you, your life, yor health. Don't forget to say thanks. enough for now.

Release

So how are you doing in releasing your busyness? See, you are so busy that you have not tried to release. But you must release in order to experience a balance. Go ahead. Release- let go. And watch God. enough for now.

Busy, not Busy-ness

Ir has been a busy time. No it is always a busy time. The thing is to not let the business of the time take you, but you take the busy-ness out of the busy time. How can you do that? By relinquishing your control and allowing Holy Spirit to move you through what is necessary and when. Another thing I do is write down at the start of my day what I feel I need to accomplish. Then I turn it over to God and check off what is done.

Let's get started. What is left for you to accomplish today? Write it down and give it to God. And get started. No more busy-ness. enough for now.

Look Back and Realize

I am overjoyed and contemplative. Today is my only son's birthday. Happy Birthday Marq!  I am so excited at what God is doing in his life. I am blessed- so blessed. That caused me to be excited at what God is doing my life. Wow. You never know the journey- you don't need to know. You do need to know the Maker of the path, the paraclete who walks alongside, the one who loves you so much that he gave his life.  When you think about it- you begin to move into contemplative prayer and end with praise.

The song says, "When I look back over my life, and I think things over. I can truly say, that God has made a way. I've got a testimony." Go ahead, mark this day, you have a testimony. Thank him for all he's done this day, in your life, with your life. Need a little help?  He kept you so you could read this and realize the blessing of you, of your life. Thank God for it, for the up and the downs.  Yeah. enough for now.

Why am I Afraid?

The question to ponder is: "Why am I afraid to walk where he leads me?"  Go ahead ask your self . Don't answer right away. Just wait and let the Answer present it to you. The reason why? Because you will talk and you don't really know. 

That is a major problem with us anyway. When we don't know or are afraid of something we question it in so many ways. It makes us look like we know more than the whatever it is. We have solved the riddle. But we don't know. We cannot solve the mystery of God's love. We don't. We can't. But we can be thankful that we are counted as his Beloved.   

The crazy part is that it really is easier to follow than we think. It really is safer, more peaceful, more joyful to follow. We don't follow mindlessly, we follow knowingly, watching what God is doing. 

Spend time with the question. Write it down and as you hear answers - write them down also. blessings on this endeavor. enough for now. 

Celebration of Life

A celebration of life. There is something about celebrating a life. And yes, it should be a celebration of a life well lived and loved. But there is another aspect- to celebrate your life as you live it. To walk knowing that you are walking and hearing direction. Celebrate your life - it is a gift to be explored each new day. Then you can recognize the love around you from kindred hearts, the guidance from Holy Spirit, the peace that only God brings.  Celebrate life- your life! enough for now.

The Quiet

Hmm. I marveled again at the quiet. No, not necessary the quiet around me from people. No, not the quiet from traffic. Not even the quiet from background noises. But the quiet in my life. The rest from trying to think it all out. The peace from just being. That really is what we are to do as believers- just be. You see, in the 'being' God molds us and shapes us into more of who we really are.  Today, work toward the 'being', allow your self to get quiet and listen; to get quiet and watch what God is doing in your life. enough for now.
