Who Do You Say

Matthew 16:13-16 NIV “When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus first asked the disciples who the people said Jesus was. You know people said a lot of things.  It was then he asked them who did they say, and Peter spoke up.

Many people speak about what they have heard about Jesus not what they know. Peter had relationship with Jesus and spoke from that. There are times that we call his name and we call out of who he is right then. We may call Jesus, our comforter, Jesus our way maker, Jesus of peace bearer. He is still Jesus. But we can’t call if we don’t know him him like.

His name has so many facets and all of them are available to us - it’s relationship. Call him by his name Jesus! enough for now.
