Acts 11:9, 17
9”But a second time the voice answered from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, you must not call profane.’ 17 If then God gave them the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could hinder God?”
This Peter’s report to the church at Jerusalem. We see God’s revelation, and Peter’s realization. Go back and read Acts 10 and 11. Sometimes God gives us something to do and we try to explain who we are. He knows who we are, and he knows why he gives us the task. Peter tried to explain to God that he didn’t eat unclean animals. But there were clean there also. He threw the baby out with the bathwater. Peter was sent to minister to the Gentiles, who were considered less than by the Jewish people.
Peter’s ministering was Cornelius’ answered prayer. We are all together, and God uses us to help help someone else. We just follow his guide. We cannot call unclean what God has made clean. And since we don’t know - we must not judge. Yeah, I know - it’s rough, but listen: we do not want to be responsible for hindering God.
enough for now.
